BREAKING: Amber Guyger Sentenced To 10 Years For The Murder

Convicted murderer Amber Guyger has been sentenced to 10 years for the murder of Botham Jean. 

The ex-Dallas police officer killed the 26-year-old in his own home on September 6, 2018 after she thought he was an intruder in her home. 

Her updated mugshot when she was booked on Monday has been released:

After a few hours of character witnesses, the jury sentenced the 31-year-old to a decade behind bars after deliberating for an hour and a half. 

The trial was seven days long.  

Guyger is eligible for parole after serving five years of the sentence.

After her sentencing, Guyger was met by Botham Jean’s brother Brandt, who hugged and told her he has forgiven her. See the emotional moment below.
