Outrage After Video Of Teen Being Beaten Goes Viral

A teenager was brutally ambushed by a group of boys that relentlessly punched, kicked and stomped on him in a school bathroom.

The video was posted on Twitter Wednesday (October 9) and has since been viewed nearly a million times, shared over 4,000 times and liked over 13,000 times.

Viewers of the graphic video identified the students by their uniforms and say it was recorded at Bluford Drew Jemison STEM Academy, an all-male middle and high school in Baltimore City, according to the school’s website.

On Thursday (October 10), school officials confirmed the video was taken inside the Academy and released a statement.

“Yesterday, a student was assaulted by several other students at Bluford Drew Jemison STEM Academy,” City Schools officials said, according to WJZ13 CBS Baltimore.

“Students involved in the incident are being identified. Appropriate action will be taken in accordance with City Schools’ Code of Conduct and the law,” they added.

As the investigation is underway, officials said school counselors, social workers and psychologists are available for students and staff.

“We are committed to the safety and security of our students and staff and work hard every day to create positive and supportive environments for teaching and learning,” Baltimore City Schools said, WJZ13 reports.
